Tamarind Square is an independent living HUD assisted housing community for the elderly, handicap and disabled. The requirements to apply are 62 or older or if under 62 eligibility for admission is based on disabled. We offer HUD subsidized housing; Tenants pay 30% of their monthly income/assets after medical deductions.
There is a one year lease once expired lease is month to month. The building is one level with 45 standard one-bedroom units and 5 handicap accessible units. There is a laundry facility on-site and 39 extra storage bins for tenants to rent at $2.00 monthly upon availability.
Electric, water, trash, and sewage are included in the rent. Small pets are allowed with a pet deposit (cats must be declawed).
Please note Tamarind Square will be a Smoke-Free Community as of March 1, 2016. There will be a designated smoking area for Residents and Residents Guest. There is also a Service Coordinator on-site contracted through Senior Independence.
Who works closely with the Residents for everyday living requirements such as home care, nurse aides, medical, prescription, social security, Ohio Job & Family Services and more.
The Service Coordinator also generates a Newsletter and Calendar released monthly to the Residents providing information about upcoming trips, activities, pot lucks, bible studies, events, etc. Here at Tamarind Square, we pride ourselves on offering a very clean, quiet and comfortable living environment.

Monthly rent for senior apartments is generally in line with local rates for typical apartments, rental condominiums, and townhomes in the area. However, rent costs may vary based on the amenities and activities that are included.
