Assisted Living

Along with our staff, Friendship Assisted Living provides the highest quality, award-winning, affordable care, accented by a sincere commitment and exciting updates to our facility. Consider these questions to help determine whether Assisted Living is the right option for you or someone you love:

Residents also enjoy all the fine amenities our assisted living apartments have to offer, all with no buy-in, so you don’t pay more to get what you want. Levels of Care We offer five levels of assistive care, ranging from occasional assistance to 24-hour nursing supervision. Assisted living care plans are customized to each residents’ specific needs.

• Residential Living: No nursing supervision
• Level I:  Medication monitoring and management
• Level II:  All services from Level I plus assistance with dressing, two baths per week, make and change bed
• Level III:  All services from Level II plus physical assistance with dressing and incontinence assistance
• Level IV:  All services from Level III plus assistance to and from meals and feeding assistance
• Respite Care also available

Outpatient Therapy 

If you have suffered an injury or are considering a joint replacement and need pre or post-op care, Friendship Outpatient Therapy can offer you a customized program of physical, occupational, speech and massage therapies. Located right off of Hershberger Road, we service patients of all ages throughout the Roanoke and New River Valleys and accept most insurance. Physical Therapy: Restores function for individuals who have experienced neuromuscular or skeletal dysfunction.

• Improve strength, balance, muscle function and range of motion
• We collaborate with your orthopedist on your therapy program before and after joint replacement surgery
• Training in mobility, gait, stability, posture and positioning, including methods for fall prevention
• Acquatic rehab in our warm-water therapy pool with less impact on joints, beneficial for arthritis
• Wellness education and home exercise programs
• Specialty Parkinson’s Program

Occupational Therapy: Restores and maintains the functionality of daily living independence and safety.

• Hand Therapy including splinting, fine-motor coordination and strengthening
• Activities of daily living, self-care therapy and home modifications
• Adaptive/Assistive equipment

Speech/Language Pathology: Addresses difficulties with communication, swallowing, and cognitive decline.

• Improve swallowing to decrease choking risk
• Verbal and non-verbal communication skills

• Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD

Additional Services Driving Evaluations
Evaluations include clinical and on-road assessments
If there’s a concern for safety, we’ll work with your physician, the DMV and Commonwealth of Virginia to ensure compliance of new regulations as of January 1, 2015
