The Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia is the leading, global voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care and support, and the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer research. Our Vision: A world without Alzheimer’s disease. Our Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

About the Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia Chapter The Chapter serves 53 counties and cities including Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, Roanoke and Danville.

Currently there are more than 5.4 million people with Alzheimer’s disease in the U.S. This number is expected to skyrocket to as many as 16 million by mid-century Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. Alzheimer’s is the only cause of death among the top 10 causes in America without a way to prevent cure or even slow its progression Every 69 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer’s.
