When Mr. Robert S. arrived at Garden Park Care Center following a fall and subsequent left hip fracture, he knew he was in good hands. Surgery was required to heal the hip fracture and Mr. Robert was struggling with everyday tasks. The therapy department worked closely with Mr. Robert on strength, mobility, range of motion, ambulation, and everyday activities to return him to his previous level of independence. They developed strategies and techniques to increase his strength while reducing his pain following the surgery. Through hard work and determination, Mr. Robert is improving to his prior level of independence once more. When asked about his experience, Mr. Robert stated, “Things have come along pretty well in therapy. I was weak at first. Now I can see myself in my mind’s eye sitting at home, playing with my kitty cat, Squirrel!” When asked how he is progressing with everyday tasks, he said, “Today, I showered standing for the whole time!” The entire team is excited for Mr. Paul’s increased independence and success at Garden Park Care Center!
When Mr. Paul T. needed a new prosthetic fitted at Garden Park Care Center, he knew he was in good hands. The therapy department was ready to help Mr. Paul improve his mobility and independence by walking! They are working closely with Mr. Paul on strength, mobility, range of motion, ambulation, and everyday activities to return him to his previous level of independence. The therapy team developed strategies and techniques to increase his strength while reducing his pain following the prosthetic fitting. Through hard work and determination, Mr. Paul is improving to his prior level of independence once more. When asked about his experience, Mr. Paul stated, “I am really happy. I understand I have work to do to get back to where I was, but I am really looking forward to not having to be constantly supervised and do things for myself again. I really like to cook, and play shuffleboard, and darts, and I am looking forward to getting back to be able to do those things like I used to without relying on this wheelchair.” The entire team is excited for Mr. Paul’s increased independence and success at Garden Park Care Center!
